"Lord equip us to teach those in need, that which would
be pleasing to You. Restore dignity, sense of purpose, and hope, as they learn new skills and grow; so they too can
become givers after recieving a hand-up, not a hand-out. May they know that the motivation of our action is Your
love for them and it is Your will that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Amen."

Sewing Machines for Indonesia
Subject: RE: Sewing Machines for Indonesia Date: Fri, 6 Feb 2009 00:23:59 -0500
Hi Nikki,
I have attached a few
photos of some of the kids with the new sewing machines. They were just delivered yesterday and I, for one, am spending
some up-close-and-personal time with the treadle. It is harder than it looks to keep that wheel pumping, but I'm
sure I will get the hang of it…eventually. J
There are more kids than just the five in the pictures who are involved in the project
right now, and soon I expect there will be still more, but Pam and I both figure it is better to start small and simple until
we get the first group of kids to be doing really good work. Interestingly enough, the best and most careful quilters
we have so far are all boys. Defies stereotypes, doesn't it?
Below is a thank you note you could
pass on to Threads of Hope. Thanks a lot for making this connection for us.
In Him, Julie
Dear Friends at Threads of Hope,
Thank you so much for the funds we
were able to use to purchase two sewing machines for the Bethel Children's home in Bali, Indonesia. The machines
were delivered yesterday, and there are plans to begin introducing the kids involved in the quilting project to the machines
beginning next week. This gives me a chance to familiarize myself with the operation of a treadle machine…a completely
new experience for me. I can't really teach something that I do not know how to use. I will, of course, draw
on the help of several of the other staff members at the home who DO have experience with this type of machine.
This gift from Threads
of Hope will be a great boost to this project as the kids will now be able to complete projects a great deal faster and with
better quality than they could do with hand-sewing. Profit the young people make from sales of their handiwork can be put
back into a future project and the rest can help supply some of their personal needs.
Thank you so much for
the opportunity these machines will provide for repeated contact and deepened relationships with these young people.
I look forward to using my time with the quilting project to invest for eternity in the lives of the kids who participate.
Blessings, Julie Merrin
Motor bikes to Maasailand in Kenya
Friends and family of Threads of Hope:
Here's the pics we have been waiting for from the presentation of three
125Suzuki motorcycles to three Maasai Pastors. Our Threads of Hope - Africa team
led by Joe Bail, Yaw Boaten, Jeremiah Koshal PhD; did the leg work, bought them in Nairobi with the funds we received
and sent from the Just family and delivered them to the Maasai Mara at Ngoswani, Kenya The motorcycles went
to:
Pastor Timothy Ntayia Pastor Musa Kedianye Pastor Samuel Muntet
All faithful and deserving Brothers in the Lord we have worked with for 12 years now. They each pastor churches
60 Klm from each other and are part of an evangelistic group called "Reaching the Unreached". This brings to
8 motorcycles in ten years we have arranged for them and their ministries, reaching the unreached.
God Bless

Yes OK, Thanks for your arbitration in behalf of Threads of Hope and the donors that sent the funds in
behalf of the memory of their son who was killed on a motor bike 4 years ago. These bikes are dedicated to his memory; Jonathon
Just from Minnasota. This makes 11 motorcycles this family has provided to spread the Gospel in Africa.
Al
Friends and Family of Threads of Hope Here is a report from Pastor William Luka from Ngoswani, Maasai
land, Kenya. Because they are able to get to to villages faster than by walking, the three of them have been to 27
villages and have seen 16 salvations in a months time. These
are the three motorbikes presented to them by Threads of Hope, funded by the Christian Motorcycle Association in the memory
of Jonathan Just of Mn. Pastor William and hopefully his wife Julianna will be here in our area in Sept. He
will be at our home for a while. We will have a time of fellowship then. To be announced. Thanks for
